Utilizing in-house state-of-the-art equipment including High Definition CNC plasma cutting and calibrated welding machines, Edwards Fabrication completed the custom manufacturing of a portable instrumentation building for a customer in the oil & gas exploration industry. This portable metal structure was fabricated to securely house sensitive data and highly specialized equipment related to an on-shore pipeline facility. Seal welding procedures and a 3-part epoxy paint system were employed to ensure both maximum protection against the elements and to be easily relocated. Crimped walls created with A-36 mild steel were utilized to maintain rigidity while maximizing the interior floor space. The structure featured closed cell insulation and non-skid flooring. The overall finished product was thoroughly inspected in-house for integrity and accuracy with particular emphasis on the door ensuring proper alignment, fit, seal and panic bar operation.

Overall dimensions for the finished portable building were 12' in length, 10' in width, and 9' in height. The structure had a turnaround time of 3 weeks and was shipped to the customer in Texas. The fabrication process met customer specifications and upheld FCAW AWS D1.1 standards.
